Code of Conduct Policy for PYSC Players and Families

Introduction
The Pleasantville Youth Soccer Club (PYSC) is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all participants. This Code of Conduct outlines the expected behavior of all players and their families. By participating in the club, players and families agree to abide by these guidelines.
Player Conduct
Sportsmanship:
Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times, including during practices, games, team sponsored events, and interactions with other teams and officials.
Respect opponents, referees, coaches, and teammates.
Avoid using abusive or offensive language.
Accept both victories and defeats with grace.
Effort and Commitment:
Attend practices and games regularly and on time.
Bring necessary and appropriate equipment to practices and games (e.g., cleats, shin guards, clothing appropriate for weather conditions, water).
Give maximum effort during training sessions and matches.
Be a positive team member and support your teammates.
Fair Play:
Play by the rules and spirit of the game.
Refrain from any form of cheating or unsporting behavior.
Accept the decisions of officials without argument or protest.
Family Conduct
Positive Support:
Support your child's team and encourage positive behavior.
Refrain from criticizing referees, coaches, or other players.
Avoid using abusive or offensive language.
Respect for Others:
Treat all participants, including coaches, referees, and other families, with respect.
Avoid any behavior that could disrupt the game or create a hostile environment amongst the team.
Parental Guidance:
Encourage your child to follow the Code of Conduct.
Discourage negative behavior and promote positive sportsmanship.
Adherence to Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL) Rules and Disciplinary Actions
Players and families will adhere to the WYSL Rules regarding conduct of behavior and follow any WYSL sanctioned disciplinary actions for players or spectators that result from violation of those rules.
Consequences for Violations
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action by PYSC and/or by WYSL, including but not limited to:
Warning
Temporary suspension from team activities
Permanent removal from the club
Playing Time
Playing time is at the coach’s discretion. It should be fair but is not necessarily equal.
Acknowledgement
Players and families agree to uphold these standards and contribute to a positive and enjoyable soccer experience for all.
